When I first heard about his new album coming out I thought it's gonna be his best selection or something. Seriously, his previous, fantastic album, titled "Princess" was released like... what? 4 months ago? So I didn't think he could do this in such a short time.
But since his new album is out and I'm very happy to hear his voice again, here's something from me. As always.
Oh, right, I forgot to say. Actually these aren't his songs. It's a cover album of well-known C-pop singers. Interesting thing is that all of those singers are women. Let's just say Faye Wong, Tanya Chua, Karen Mok, A-mei, Jolin Tsai, mix them with Jam's voice and you already know it's a hit.
開到荼靡 originally sang by Faye. Oh, that's a beauty! So rocky, so fantastic. And there goes Karen Mok's 如果沒有你. I've been much into her Mandarin albums lately, and I know it's hard to sing her songs and make it look good. Jam did it. I'm not surprised, I always believed in him XD Beautifully sung. We also have Tanya Chua's song. It's hard to sing her too. Tanya's like my fave Singaporean singer. Almost every song of her is like a poem and little masterpiece for me. But this song he chose isn't one of my fave. But cover is always another point of view for a song. That's why I like them. I think he did good. I got surprised by Jolin's 倒帶. Hm, I'm a big fan of her but honestly I don't remember such a song. Nevermind, I love it.
I'm glad Jam does more rockish sounds lately. It really fits him. Give him a try if you haven't yet.
